Fares & zones
mobl.city uses zone-based fares — the further you travel, the more zones you cross. Tap on and tap off and the system charges the exact fare for the zones between.
The busiest core of the network — downtown and peak corridors.
Mid-range neighbourhoods and the bulk of everyday journeys.
Outer suburbs and off-peak routes further from the centre.
Express and special services, including longer regional links.
However many times you tap on in a day, you'll never pay more than that city's daily cap — the equivalent of a day pass. The cap applies automatically; there's nothing to buy and nothing to claim. Exact fares and caps vary by city; your card is always charged the local amount, converted automatically if your balance is in another currency.
You may be charged a default maximum-journey fare for that trip. Tap off normally on your next journey and the system continues as usual — and you can review every trip in your account history.
The most common reason is a low balance. Recharge at any station kiosk, in the app, or with a station agent, then tap again. If the balance is fine, the card may be blocked — contact us below.
Yes. The mobl.city app turns a supported phone into your card at any mobl.city reader, and you can add a pass to your mobile wallet. Your balance is shared — card and phone draw from the same account.
Within a few seconds of the payment clearing. Kiosk and station-agent reloads are active immediately; app reloads appear as soon as the payment is confirmed.
No. Tapping itself is free — you're only ever charged the fare for the journey you take, capped at the city's daily maximum.
Yes. Review the trip in your account history, then contact us with the date and card number. Genuine incorrect charges are credited back to your card balance.
mobl.city readers sit at an accessible height on gates and open-air posts, give both an audible tone and a visible check on every tap, and work with the phone-based pass for riders who prefer not to handle a card.
